該劇闡述楊繼康育有五女；惟三女三春非親生。楊繼康大壽，四女均偕夫婿祝壽，唯三春空手而至，楊母不悅。後楊繼康受弟牽連，削官沒產卻無處安身。僅三春不計前嫌帶回家中盡孝，楊母悔不當初。
